Preview Your Book Cover

An interactive tool to preview your cover the way it will really be seen!

When you’re picking out an awesome book cover, keep in mind your cover won’t be displayed in the glorious high resolution format you yourself view it in – the vast majority of customers will see it shrunk down to a thumbnail, and only see the full image if they click on your book in search results or an ad. What’s more, if they do go to your book’s page and click on preview, they’ll see your book in it’s full size BUT displayed lower resolution and compressed, thanks to Amazon’s method of serving images. Amazon’s priority is on speed and SEO, and they don’t mind if it’s not as detailed or vibrant as it is in it’s original form. If a customer finds your book while browsing on a Kindle, they’ll see your cover in black and white, displayed on the Kindle’s e-ink display.

Not every cover looks great, or even acceptable, in every format. After reading our article about what makes an effective book cover so you don’t make the same mistakes most do, enter your books info – or just dummy descriptions, and upload your cover to see it compressed, in black and white, and displayed as a thumbnail on a Amazon, Google Play Books and Apple iBooks webpage. If your book cover looks great, great! A book is not a movie or song, it has it’s own lifespan and is an asset that you will have forever. Do not rush the cover. Take your time and get it right, and your novel will pay you back with a lifetime of royalty checks. Well, unless your book sucks, I’m a publisher not a psychic. Enjoy this little tool, like all of our tools it’s free with no sign-ups or memberships.
